What is your only comfort in life and death?
That I, with body and soul, both in life and death, am not my own, but belong unto my faithful Savior Jesus Christ; who with his precious blood has fully satisfied for all my sins, and delivered me from all the power of the devil; and so preserves me that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; yea, that all things must be subservient to my salvation, wherefore by His Holy Spirit He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me heartily willing and ready, henceforth, to live unto him.

Mike, I think you should join a Dutch Refromed church after quoting from their catechism.
I think that first question of the Heidleberg Catechism rivals the frist question of the Westmnister Catechism if not eclipses it...but I'm biased since I'm a member in the United Reformed Church...which as you all may know...has Dutch roots.
Now, Mike, you have to post question number two as well.

I'm posting them as I memorize them (the italics are where I made mistakes, so I guess watching Man-Thing while posting the catechism was a little distracting) - we're just about to begin study of the catechism in bible Study, and I'm lobbying for the guys to commit to memorizing as well..
I just started on #2 today - it's not too hard, so maybe I'll take a shot at it
You would probably get much more memorized if you'd watch The Crawling Eye. There are a lot of slow parts. BTW, have you ever seen the original Haunting? Now that's a scary movie. Perhaps a little too sophisticated for someone who watches Mansquito, though. ;-)
I memorized one of the "kids" versions of the catechism for sunday school in order to beat all the other kids...I was in it for the competition and forgot it ALL as soon as I won the prize...very sad...
Moral of the story; Don't use prizes or you'll get losers like me. :-)
You know you don't have to confess these things publicly, V. Whose site do you think this is, Oprah's?

And besides, you can shoot a Glock. That counts for a lot in my book!
Ok, now that our computer is alive I need to clarify some things:
1#: Mom, "Confess"? I am not ashamed of it...I won didn't I?
#2: Mike, I wasn't seriously calling myself a loser, I never do that. I'm about as self-deprecating as Geraldo Rivera or Bob Vila...that I could be ashamed of, but I don't plan on it.
