Actually, free agency came about due to a lawsuit by a couple of players, one of which was Andy Messersmith. Guess I'm really showing my age by admitting this. Don't remember the other. I actually put the blame equally on both side. Owners for forcing the issue, and players for their greed. Correction, BOTH of them for their greed. The players lost my sympathy when one of their reps, who happened to be making about ten million a year, complained the owners were treating him like "meat" and "a slave." Heck, pay me ten million a year, you can treat me any way you like. All this for a sport where except for the pitcher and catcher, you basically spend most of the game standing, sitting, spitting, and scratching. Real gifted players manage to do more than one of them at a time.

I am most surprised that Pride was not listed higher. I would not list Pride but then again I am a liar too ;)

I don't mean to be so scarce. I just found I needed a break from just about everything, so that's why I haven't been around posting or commenting very much.
